Contrary to popular beliefs, Weightlifting will not stunt kids growth. When supervised by a qualified professional, resistance training is very beneficial for youth. Especially if they play sports. Resistance training improves motor unit recruitment, bone density, muscular strength, muscular growth, power, mental state, confidence….the list can go on and on. Recent studies show that over 30% of youth are overweight and morbidly obese. Weightlifting is a great option for youth to be active if they don’t participate in sports. Group and individual training is available
Youth and Teen Classes are held at Harney Sports Complex on Fort Leavenworth. Military base access is required.
