So you’ve begun to notice you aren’t a spring chicken anymore…..your body doesn’t move like it used to.
Muscle fibers change as we age. The first to change are the fast twitch fibers that allow for quick powerful movements. Resistance training (and Olympic Weightlifting) is one way to combat the aging process and slow down muscle changes and atrophy. At 913 Weightlfifing we strongly believe people should have a good quality of life until the very end. Having strong legs, a strong upper body and a strong core will allow for independent living and more mobility. It can allow for the ability to chase and keep up with grandkids, to keep playing adult sports, to keep running, cycling, swimming, or performing all of the hobbies you enjoy. The day you stop doing something physical is the day you start losing your ability to do it. Resistance training multiple times per week is vital to preserving muscle mass.
Classes will begin September 3rd! Tuesday and Thursday 9:00-10:15 at Harney Sports Complex, Fort Leavenworth. Military base access is required. Individual training is available by appointment.
